Job Description
SUMMARY
This position is required to maintain the molds used in injection molding presses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work in a neat and orderly manner
- Maintain molds in accordance with Tool Shop procedures
- Work with more experienced associates to maintain molds
- Work with a variety of associates to accomplish organized objectives
- Tear down and assemble molds
- Change core inserts & orifice sizes
- Ability to read digital calipers for orifice pin size identification
- Understanding workings of molds
- Clean Shop as needed
- Detect possible future problems or existing problems during the course of preventive maintenance
- Follows applicable Food Safety and cGMP policies.
- All other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or GED required
- Strong problem solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to various types of equipment that have vibration. The noise level in the work environment requires hearing protection.
