Department Overview

 

The Procurement organization is the functional lead for the procurement of materials and services at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The department collaborates with internal clients and suppliers managing more than $12 billion of annual company spend to develop mutually beneficial total value solutions for goods and services. The department provides the following services to internal clients: procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, category management, supplier relationship management, execution and outreach, compliance management, ongoing procurement field support and management of the source to pay cycle

 

Position Summary

 

We are seeking a motivated summer intern to support the implementation of an enterprise contingent workforce program. The role will work alongside our program leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to help design processes, develop program materials, and support operational readiness for managing external talent at scale. This internship offers exposure to procurement, workforce strategy, vendor management, procurement operations, and enterprise program implementation.

 

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. 

 

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $24.52 to $35.37 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Support the design and rollout of an enterprise contingent workforce management program
  • Assist in developing process documentation, playbooks, and operating procedures
  • Conduct data analysis and reporting on contingent workforce usage, suppliers, and spend
  • Support vendor onboarding and program governance activities
  • Track implementation milestones, risks, and action items
  • Contribute to stakeholder communications and change management efforts
  • Research industry practices and benchmarks related to contingent workforce management

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, HR, communications, or related at an accredited university
  • Students must be continuing their education towards their degree during and/or after the internship
