The North Carolina Biotechnology Center’s Talent and Culture Development (TACD) team is excited to welcome a current undergraduate or graduate student—or a recent graduate (within the past six months)—to join our team. This opportunity is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience working alongside a collaborative team while developing insight into Talent & Culture initiatives. The position offers a flexible, hybrid schedule, with up to 50% of time spent in the office.
Pay: $20/hour
Duration: Approximately 8 weeks between June-August 2026
Schedule: Flexible, M-F, 4-8 hours daily (50% Hybrid)
Essential Duties:
The primary focus of this role will be to assist TACD in the strategy and execution of our Total Rewards Strategy which includes Compensation, Learning and Growth, Benefits, Recognition & Work/Life Balance initiatives. Key areas of focus for the TACD intern will include:
- Communications; send & respond email communications on behalf of and with the direction the TACD team (events, surveys, etc).
- Assist with general HR inquiries about Benefits, Comp., Leaves, etc. under the guidance of the TACD team.
- Assist with schedule activities & meetings with the direction of the TACD team.
- Employee personnel file audit, creation, & maintenance
- Online file management
- File room organization
- Ourspace (intranet) documentation
- Assist with LinkedIn recruiting account
- Posting jobs, emailing resumes, etc.
- HRIS/ADP Maintenance
The ideal candidate will possess the following KSAs
Knowledge:
- Basic confidentiality of personal and sensitive information
- Appropriate business etiquette in email, virtual, and in-person settings
Skills:
- Clear verbal & written communication
- Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, ZOOM
Ability:
- Interact with a diverse group of professionals (internal & external)
- Synthesize complex information into digestible communications
- Quickly learn technical computer applications such as ADP & Ourspace (company intranet)
