Position Summary: 

The Electrical Engineering Summer Hire will apply their educational experience in a real world setting within Taco’s product development team. They will assist the electrical engineering department to design, develop, and test new products. The Electrical Engineering Summer Hire will focus on performing research and design tasks assigned by supervisor, performing lab testing, drafting test reports, as needed. Must be able to multi-task and have good organizational skills. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience with advanced technology products and rapid design practice.

Measures of success:

  • Successfully document and test new products
  • Create validation protocols from requirements
  • Complete analysis of a special project

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design/documentation of schematics and electrical circuits
  • Create test plans and assisting in testing of products
  • Perform in-depth analysis of special project, as necessary

Qualifications

Required:

  • Junior or Senior enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering
  • Relevant coursework completion required.
  • Practical experience EE/CE is desirable.
  • Adaptable to changes in priority
  • Ability to come up with new ideas for product improvement based on observation and analysis
  • A team player with enthusiasm, positive outlook and professional demeanor who takes initiative and direction
  • Solid organizational skills, strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships
  • Excellent communication skills
  • No travel required

Work Environment

This position works primarily in an office environment using computers and technology.  Verbal and auditory capability are required. Occasional exposure in production plant and testing lab where large equipment and noise are prevalent.  Safety gear is required in these areas.

This position reports into the site every day. 

This position has no direct reports.
