About the Role

Description

The intern will work closely with the assigned department to support key projects within the appropriate service area or business function area as determined by agency needs. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a non-profit, human services agency.


The Marketing & Promotions internship would include, but is not limited to, photography, digital social media, writing, and promotional appearances. KCARC is a nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of services, including manufacturing and employment services, job training, intellectual and developmental disability services, adult day services, behavior management services, early childhood developmental programs, and school-aged transition services.


Our organization operates at a fast pace and spans seven facilities, including the Baker Center, Civitan Children’s Center, The Shop, Coonrod Production Center, and our 1972 Community Center. In addition to overseeing marketing efforts, assistance may be required for all company and community events, as well as our organizational newsletter.


We are seeking an intern who is energetic, professional, and highly organized.


Essential Duties

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in ongoing activities and special projects within the assigned department.
  • Conduct research, gather data, and analyze findings to support project objectives.
  • Collaborate with team members to contribute to project planning and execution.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Attend meetings, take notes, and provide summaries as needed.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support daily operations of the department.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Develops strong relationships based on trust and seeks opportunities to collaborate across the matrix/organizational boundaries to achieve business goals.
  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must be willing to submit to a background and drug screen as part of the selection process
