About the Role

Position Summary

The Information Technology department is seeking one Software Engineering Intern to support the design, development, testing, and deployment of an internal application used to track and monitor forklift and electric pallet jack usage. This internship offers hands-on experience working on a business-critical software project that supports operational visibility, accountability, and process improvement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and help deploy an internal application.
  • Partner with IT and business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand workflows, and translate business needs into practical software solutions.
  • Support application configuration, data capture, reporting logic, user testing, troubleshooting, and rollout activities.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while following sound software development practices.
  • Assist with debugging, quality assurance, issue resolution, and post-deployment improvements based on user feedback.
  • Provide clear progress updates, maintain technical documentation, and contribute to a collaborative project environment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
  • Foundational experience with software development and at least one programming language.
  • Basic understanding of application design, testing, debugging, and problem-solving.
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work during the internship term and contribute to project milestones in a professional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building web applications, internal tools, dashboards, or data-driven applications.
  • Familiarity with databases, APIs, version control, or user interface design.
  • Interest in operational technology, asset tracking, equipment monitoring, or manufacturing support systems.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work independently when needed, and adapt to changing project requirements.
