Position Overview:
Forum Asset Management is looking for a Data Engineer Intern to help build and scale Forum’s enterprise data platform using modern cloud technologies.
You’ll work on ingesting, transforming, and organizing data from a variety of sources to support analytics, reporting, and AI-driven initiatives. This role is ideal for someone interested in the full data lifecycle - from raw data to business insights.
This is a hands-on, in-office role with exposure to real-world data challenges in investment management and real estate. This posting is for an existing vacancy at Forum.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Ingest and clean data from internal and external sources
- Support development of data models and structured datasets
- Work with Azure tools such as Data Factory, Synapse, or Fabric
- Help optimize data workflows for performance and reliability
- Collaborate with software developers and business teams on data needs
Candidate Profile:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in Python and/or SQL
- Understanding of data structures and basic data modeling concepts
- Interest in data engineering, analytics, or big data systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
- Familiarity with ETL pipelines or data processing tools
- Interest in AI/ML or working with large datasets
