About the Role

Position Overview

The Summer IT Intern supports the IT department in maintaining systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and assisting with daily IT operations. This role provides hands-on experience in a real-world IT environment while contributing to ongoing projects and support tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 helpdesk support for hardware, software, and network issues 
  • Assist with device setup and deployment (PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers) 
  • Perform basic troubleshooting for Windows, Microsoft 365, and common business applications 
  • Support user account management (password resets, access provisioning) 
  • Document incidents, solutions, and procedures in the IT ticketing system 
  • Assist with network monitoring and system checks 
  • Help maintain inventory of IT equipment and assets 
  • Participate in IT projects such as upgrades, migrations, disposing of equipment or system rollouts 
  • Follow company security policies and best practices 

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field 
  • Basic understanding of: 
    • Windows OS 
    • Networking fundamentals (IP, DNS, DHCP) 
    • Microsoft 365 / Office applications 
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with: 
    • Active Directory / Entra ID 
    • Helpdesk or ticketing systems 
    • PowerShell or basic scripting 
  • Familiarity with: 
    • Hardware troubleshooting 
    • Printers and peripheral devices
