About the Role

Job Description Summary

Lean Summer Experience is a seven week educational program offered by GE Aerospace. The candidate will work together with a process Owner, a Champion and two other Students of Engineering supporting an assigned project as part of the Lean Summer Experience (7 week period). The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work with Senior Leaders across the organization and together with two other Engineering Students will define, implement, and control a solid continuous improvement into the assigned project.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data for assigned project

  • Use Lean tools to improve assigned project

  • Support the team on the development of Lean tools

  • Work within the guidelines of applicable GE Policies and Procedures, Engineering Standards, Design Customer Operating Procedures, Specifications, Government and Commercial Standards, and special security requirements

  • Document technical data that is generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies, systems and/or processes and that is consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Provide timely communication on significant issues to key stakeholders

  • Support the solution of problems of limited scope and complexity

  • Self-check of work

Required Qualifications

  • Student of Mechatronics Engineering

  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish  

  • English skills: must be able to maintain a simple conversation in English.

  • Presentation skills: ability to communicate with Senior Leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability in managing own projects

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills

  • Proven analytical and organizational abilities

  • Accountable and strong learning/continuous improvement mindset

  • Open team player and strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience with visual management tools is a plus

  • 40hours per week

  • In-person work is required at GEIQ offices in Queretaro, Mex
