DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW 

 

Canadian Personal Banking (CPB) provides a comprehensive suite of deposit, saving, payment and lending products and advice through a network of 1,062 branches, 3,438 automated teller machines (ATM), mobile specialized salesforce, and telephone, mobile and internet banking services. CPB is comprised of the following line of businesses: 

 

  • Chief Operating Officer (COO) mandate is focused on building and executing innovative strategies for CPB partners that lead to new and deeper customer relationships, new revenue streams, improved colleague and customer experience, and greater productivity overall. The team is comprised of subject matter experts in diverse disciplines across strategy, finance, operations, risk management, regulatory governance, business architecture, change, communications, event planning, talent management, multi-media and more. 

  • Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) & Specialized Sales Force (SSF) help Canadians achieve their homeownership financial goals throughout the entire customer journey with Mortgages and TD Home Equity FlexLines. It also includes specialized credit advice, underwriting, and fulfillment of key processes for Personal Banking. 

  • Canadian Card Payments, Loyalty & Personal Lending (CCPL&PL) is responsible for Credit Card and Personal Lending Banking Products that meet the unsecured borrowing needs of Canadians while enhancing TD's loyalty offerings and partnerships that improve the value propositions for our customers. 

  • Everyday Savings & Investing (ES&I) is responsible for the day-to-day banking products (Chequing domestic and cross-border banking, Overdraft Protection, Savings, GICs and Mutual Fund products) that meet the everyday banking savings and investing needs of Canadians    

  • Branch Banking Delivery Excellence (BBDE) is responsible for building customer and colleague confidence by supporting approximately 18,000 Branch Banking colleagues in TD's more than 1,100 branches across Canada.  

  • Digital Transformation & Strategy focuses on driving CPB's digital strategy in partnership with our business leaders, journey owners and enterprise stakeholders, including Platforms and Technology and Transformation, Enablement and Customer Experience. 

 

 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Real Estate Secured Lending (RESL) & Specialized Sales Force (SSF) help Canadians achieve their homeownership financial goals throughout the entire customer journey with Mortgages and TD Home Equity FlexLines. 

The 1A Governance & Control team completes monitoring and oversight programs related to Sales Practice & Conduct, while playing a governance and risk-focused role supporting the MMS and Broker businesses. The role is designed to enable business growth while ensuring strong sales practices, maintaining conduct standards, while driving operational and regulatory compliance across SSF National Office, Mobile Mortgage Specialist (MMS), Broker channels. 

At a high level, the role acts as a bridge between frontline sales activity and enterprise risk, governance, and control expectations. The team partners closely with sales leaders and governance teams to identify conduct / sales practice risks, respond to issues identified through monitoring and audits, and ensure controls and oversight remain aligned to TD’s regulatory and operational frameworks and risk appetite. Overall, the role is positioned as a trusted risk and conduct and sales practice advisor to the SSF business—focused less on direct sales execution and more on ensuring sustainable evolution and growth through strong controls, ethical sales practices, and regulatory / operational excellence. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS  

 

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Data, Business/Commerce or related field 

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree with the intent of going back to school at the start of your work term 

  • Championing conduct and sales practice governance within SSF by helping shape solutions that promote appropriate sales behaviours and mitigate risk.  

  • Supporting audit readiness and remediation efforts, including evidence collection and action plans to achieve successful (“Green”) testing outcomes for the SSF channels.  

  • Maintaining and updating risk and regulatory control inventories, ensuring they clearly articulate control purpose and oversight requirements relevant to SSF activities.  

  • Using enterprise data and analytics to identify trends, investigate issues, and escalate risks that could impact customers, colleagues, or shareholders.  

  • Acting as a subject matter expert on sales practices, conduct risk, and frontline impacts within specialized mortgage and lending sales environments.
