About the Role

Job Description

The Vertex Internship Program offers students the opportunity to learn about the pharmaceutical industry from a hands-on perspective. When you join our internship/apprenticeship program you should not be surprised to see that our environment is one that is nimble, innovative and team oriented, where collaboration is not just a word, and "we are fearless" is in everything we do. Students can expect to be challenged by their project plan and feel valued by the Vertex community. Not only will interns learn about their day-to-day tasks through their specific work assignments, but they will interact and have exposure to our organizational leaders and their teams.

We are looking for an intern to support the Vertex Legal Department. The role would be based in Paris, but would cover the entire International Region, across all disease areas.

Timeline: July-December 2026.

Required Background and Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Law (equivalent of French Master 2), preferably with a focus on Health Law.
  • Currently studying for a CRFPA diploma
  • Previous experience in the life sciences sector (pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or medical device companies)
  • Fluency in English
  • Highly motivated, curious mindset, quick learner and team player.
  • Very good communication and influencing skills, emotional intelligence and a business-oriented attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal support to markets and disease areas at Country, Region and HQ level at International.
  • Participate in the review and the approval of commercial and non-commercial materials, activities and communication (including press releases, social media, patient support programs, market research, disease education, medical education) as well as strategic and tactical plans.
  • Product related legal support at all stages of product life cycle, including product launch activities, promotional including digital activities, lifecycle and product portfolio management.
  • Participate in the draft and negotiation of distribution, wholesaler, and service agreements.
  • Participate in the draft and negotiation of price and reimbursement agreements.
  • Close collaboration with OBIE (Office of Business Integrity & Ethics ).
  • Participation in Legal & OBIE Department initiatives and meetings.
  • Contribution to department and cross-functional governance and process improvement projects.
