Position Summary
The Specialty Leasing Summer Intern will support the execution and administration of Spinoso Real Estate Group’s Specialty Leasing Program across the portfolio. This role offers hands-on exposure to retail real estate operations, tenant relations, and revenue-generating initiatives, with a focus on process support, organization, and lead development.
The intern will work closely with the Specialty Leasing team to improve operational efficiency, maintain accurate records, and contribute to pipeline growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Administrative Support
- Assist with tracking and coordinating collections, including follow-ups and documentation of outstanding balances
- Monitor internal workflows to ensure deals and agreements are progressing in a timely manner
- Support the maintenance and organization of tenant files, agreements, and related documentation
- Maintain and update SharePoint systems to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and consistency across the portfolio
Leasing & Revenue Support
- Assist in lead generation efforts by researching prospective tenants, brands, and concepts aligned with property needs
- Compile and maintain prospect lists and outreach tracking tools
- Support the team in preparing leasing materials, presentations, and reporting
Data & Process Management
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in current workflows and suggest improvements
- Ensure data integrity across tracking tools and reporting systems
- Assist in reporting on leasing activity, pipeline status, and collections
Learning Objectives
- Gain exposure to commercial real estate leasing and specialty leasing strategies
- Develop skills in CRM systems, SharePoint management, and operational workflows
- Understand revenue generation through non-traditional leasing channels
- Build professional communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with SharePoint is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Capstone Project
“Specialty Leasing Pipeline & Process Optimization Plan”
Objective:
The intern will evaluate the current specialty leasing workflow—from lead generation through deal execution and collections—and deliver a strategic recommendation plan to improve efficiency, visibility, and revenue capture.
Project Components:
- Pipeline Analysis
- Audit current lead tracking, prospecting methods, and deal flow
- Identify bottlenecks in the leasing and collections process
- Workflow Mapping
- Create a visual map of the current end-to-end process
- Highlight gaps, redundancies, or delays
- SharePoint & File Structure Audit
- Evaluate current document storage and organization
- Recommend improvements for usability and consistency
- Lead Generation Strategy
- Develop a targeted prospecting plan (by category, property type, or market trends)
- Provide sample prospect lists and outreach framework
- Final Deliverable
- A presentation to leadership with actionable recommendations, including:
- Process improvements
- Suggested tools/templates
- KPI tracking recommendations
- Implementation roadmap
