Overview
Synapse ITS is looking for a Process Engineering Summer Intern to support our manufacturing operations in Greenville. This is a hands-on opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and gain exposure to how production processes are developed, documented, and improved.
You’ll be involved in continuous improvement efforts, process documentation, and day-to-day manufacturing support in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
You’ll support process improvement initiatives and help optimize production workflows.
- Assist with developing and updating work instructions and process documentation
- Support time studies and help maintain production standard times
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and waste reduction
- Assist with process audits to identify improvement opportunities
- Help analyze production data to support decision-making
- Support troubleshooting efforts related to production issues, scrap, and downtime
- Assist with basic Design of Experiments (DOE) and data collection activities
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams
- Take on additional projects that support manufacturing and process improvement

Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Interest in manufacturing, process improvement, or operations
- Basic understanding of Lean, continuous improvement, or Six Sigma concepts is a plus
- Exposure to data analysis, Excel, or technical documentation is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication and documentation skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
