About the Role

     

 

ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Americas is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Copyright & Trademark Intern to support the development and implementation of our intellectual property initiatives.

 

As a global leader in access solutions, we rely on strong copyright and trademark practices to protect the innovation, brand integrity, and product excellence that define our portfolio. This internship provides hands‑on experience working directly with our Head of IP and collaborating with internal business units and external partners. Over the course program, you will gain exposure to copyright and trademark processes, licensing considerations, and the operational aspects of managing IP within a multinational manufacturing environment.

 

This is an onsite position based in Berlin, CT. Our ideal candidate will be able to commit to the entire summer and will work onsite 40-hours per week.

 

What you will be doing

  • Work closely with the Head of IP and external providers to support the development of the copyright and trademark program
  • Assist with internal audits, data collection, and data review
  • Participate in team meetings and provide updates on assigned tasks
  • Coordinate data collection efforts with internal business units
  • Support contract and license review activities

 

What we are looking for

 

  • Currently pursuing or recently earned a BS/BA degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, Legal, or a related field (preferred)
  • Junior standing or higher
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Willingness to learn legal‑related business practices
  • Intellectual Property (IP) or other legal coursework is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and SharePoint
  • Comfortable using online search platforms and open to learning IP‑specific tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
