Summary

Join Woodwell’s 2026 Summer Internship Program as an Intern, Event Planning Coordinator within our President’s Office and Development. As an intern at the Center, you will be provided with overall knowledge of scientific and operational programs of the Center, and gain skills directly while working with your team. Interns will be supported through challenging assignments, provide and receive feedback, and contribute to our organization's success.



Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provides administrative and logistical support, assisting with all aspects of event planning including pre-event preparation, on-site execution and post-event follow-up

  • Coordinate vendors, set up and breakdown, registering attendees, and ensuring the smooth running of events

  • Track completion of tasks, deadlines, and details related to vendors

  • Gain practical experience by working on projects and tasks within research and/or operations 

  • Network with professionals in field of interest, including mentors, managers and other interns

  • Participate and learn about the Center’s scientific disciplines and operational programs through staff meetings and other employee engagement activities

Must Have the Following Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Graphic design experience or courses

  • Communications and marketing courses and background 

  • Strong problem solving and quick decision-making skills 

  • Willingness and ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Open to receive guidance from experienced professionals and learn new techniques and tools


Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program taking relevant coursework within Marketing, Graphic Design and/or Communications or recent graduate

  • If hybrid, must have access to reliable internet/wifi


Work Environment

The functions of this role are conducted in:

  • A variety of environments, both indoor and outdoor


Hours of Work

  • This role is paid on an hourly basis

  • Typically, fulltime, temporary employees work up to 40 hours during a Monday through Friday workweek.

Desired Start Date: Monday, June 8, 2025 through August 14, 2025 


Classification and Compensation: This is a full-time, temporary, hourly, non-exempt position, the salary is $15/hour. Internship will not exceed more than 90 days.


Location: Falmouth, Massachusetts Onsite or Hybrid
