The Position

The Opportunity

Pharma Technical (PT) Operations delivers the pipeline while efficiently transforming scientific ideas into products and supplies medicines to patients. While PT is responsible for manufacturing of all commercial products, Pharma Technical Development (PTD, part of PT) develops innovative technical solutions to supply quality products to patients within Research & Development (R&D). As an intern in the PT Finance Enterprise Partner team, you will support projects to increase efficiency, transparency and enable decision making for PT Business. 

Your main tasks will include: 

  • Supporting PT Finance Enterprise Partners and interact closely with PT Business and Enterprise Center of Excellence which will allow you to get exposure to various activities (e.g. ad-hoc analysis of functional and project spend, month-end closing, reporting, financial planning cycles, development of business cases).

  • Participation in various projects (e.g. implementation and improvement of planning systems; new ERP implementation).

  • Supporting financial alignment across a highly matrixed network, influencing colleagues in Procurement, Global Supply Chain, Quality, and Manufacturing Science & Technology to deliver on shared targets like Cost of Sales (CoS) reduction and inventory optimization.

  • Partnering with Procurement to support teams with relevant financial insights for monitoring of performance and improvement of supply agreements with biggest external manufactures.

What you’ll need to join us:

  • You are currently enrolled in a Master’s program or have graduated within 12 months of the internship start date; preferred fields of study include Finance, Economics, or Business Administration.

  • You are able to work under pressure, passionate about challenges, willing to learn by doing and results oriented. 

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint/gSlides, and AI tools (such as Gemini, ChatGPT, or Claude) is essential.

  • A solid foundation in basic accounting is a must; familiarity with SAP is a plus.

  • You possess the analytical mindset to translate complex data into practical business solutions while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Fluent in English with the ability to communicate insights clearly and effectively across the organization.

Additional Information

  • This is a 12-month, full-time, on-site internship in Basel, Switzerland.  The preferred start date is June 1.

  • Non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents.
