Overview
The Supply Chain Intern will participate in various activities and projects related to the optimization of process across both supply chain departments, iCTC and Planning & Logistics. This role will support the full supply chain team based on prioritization of key opportunities for process improvement.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of the supply chain operational excellence roadmap that focuses on the optimizing processes across supply chain, delivering efficiencies and reducing cost.
- Perform basic process observation, including data gathering and data entry to perform basic organization and analysis using Excel.
- Develop process flowcharts identifying critical steps process steps, resource requirements based on observation and work with supply chain staff to identify and catalogue opportunities.
- Support the organization in process improvement and cost reduction goals by performing process observation, basic data gathering and analysis using Excel.
- Work with Supply Chain leadership to identify appropriate metrics at various employee levels, collect relevant data, and create visualizations that monitor project status and opportunity/benefits tracking.
- Performs other duties as assigned by leader.
Required Education, Skills, and Knowledge
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited university/college.
- Must have completed at least one year of study at an accredited university/college prior to internship commencing.
- Strong interpersonal and team-building skills, effective communication (both written and verbal), proactive problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent organization skills and an ability to prioritize effectively to deliver results within reasonably established guidelines.
Physical Demands and Activities Required
- Must be able to move to and from the office to the lab located on separate floors and move about the office and lab as needed.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to move and lift up to 20 pounds multiple times a day.
- Wear proper personal protective equipment in a laboratory setting, i.e., safety glasses, lab coats, and closed-toed shoes.
Mental: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analysis, and discretion; ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously; and ability to meet deadlines.
Work Environment
This position will work in an office and a laboratory setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, printers, and filing cabinets. When in the lab, there may be a risk of exposure to hazardous or biological waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and/or disposal of contaminated areas and waste.
