About the Role

Description

The Alinea Group is seeking a full-time, temporary Accounting Intern to join our accounting team. We are driven by a passion for innovation across culinary arts, service, and business operations. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, excels at maintaining accurate records, demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, and collaborates effectively with others.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the accounts payable process by gathering, entering, and organizing vendor invoices and statements to ensure timely and accurate payments

  • Support the daily sales reconciliation process by reviewing sales reports, verifying entries, and identifying discrepancies across multiple revenue streams

  • Help perform cash and bank account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy between internal records and external statements

  • Contribute to month-end closing activities, including journal entry preparation and data validation

  • Maintain well-organized digital records and help implement best practices for file management and data retention

  • Participate in special accounting projects as needed.

  • Uphold a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and clear communication in all interactions

  • Complete all other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Management, or a related field

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, with the ability to organize, analyze, and present data effectively

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset

  • Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and gain practical, hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Upper-level undergraduate student (Junior or Senior) or a recent graduate preparing for the CPA exam

  • Actively pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Schedule Information

  • In-office work environment, must be comfortable commuting to our office in Fulton Market

  • Full-time schedule, working 4 days per week

  • Summer internship with a preferred commitment of at least 3 months
