We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Science Intern to join our Innovation Works and Science team. In this role, you will work closely with research scientists, machine learning engineers, computational linguists and BIE to support advanced analytics, model development, and data-driven product improvements.

The Gig
- Support data collection, cleaning, transformation, and exploratory analysis for ongoing projects.
- Assist in developing, testing, and improving machine learning and LLM models.
- Perform deep-dive analysis to evaluate model behavior, output quality, and performance across different approaches.
- Help refine prompts, evaluation criteria, and testing workflows to improve consistency and outcomes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into analytical solutions.
- Build reports, visualizations, and dashboards to communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Document methods, experiment results, and recommendations clearly and thoroughly.
- Participate in team meetings, project discussions, and implementation reviews.
What You Need to Make the Cut
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong programming skills in Python/R and working knowledge of SQL.
- Solid understanding of statistics, data analysis, and machine learning fundamentals.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Available to work 40 hours per week during the internship period.
- Dedicated workspace and ability to attend virtual meetings without interruption.
The pay range for this position is $23.50 per hour (pay to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, balanced against internal equity and competitive market based geographic ranges).
