ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING INTERN

OVERVIEW

Support the design, fabrication, and modification of electrical and/or electromechanical components, sub-systems, and systems.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work on new product development activities alongside experienced design and application engineers.
  • Develop prototype products to evaluate new design concepts.
  • Develop firmware for embedded systems. 
  • Design and implement engineering experiments to validate concepts.
  • Provide end of term report summarizing accomplishments, project work, and observations to be presented to management.


 REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Must be enrolled in accredited engineering or equivalent degree program towards a B.S./M.S. in Engineering/Computer Engineering/Computer Science.
  • Must have completed sophomore year.
  • Experience with programming languages C/C++
  • Experience with scripting languages Python, Perl
  • Experience using test equipment: oscilloscopes, meters, debuggers.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Office area for development.
  • Design lab for experiments and testing.
  • Environmental lab for testing.
  • Factory production environment.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
 
Up to 10% travel may be required
 
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
 
 
While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to walk for prolonged periods of time, frequently bending, climbing, rotating, squatting, reaching, kneeling, or stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds, and periods of computer use.


Employees may be frequently exposed to heat/cold, heights, gases, vibration, dust, chemicals, odors, dampness, fumes, and noises.
