About the Role

WECU is seeking a temporary full-time Finance Intern to join our finance team located on-site in Bellingham, WA. This is a full-time, temporary in person position in which you will be scheduled to work 40 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with data entry, reconciliation, and maintenance of financial records
  • Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting processes
  • Compile and analyze financial data for trend analysis and decision support
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as assigned
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for Finance leadership
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
  • Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial and organizational information
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Prior internship or coursework in finance or accounting preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel required; familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications preferred
  • Basic understanding of financial and accounting principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn and accept feedback

COMPENSATION: 

The pay for this position is $22.50 per hour. As it is a temporary role, no benefits are provided.
