Job Description

  • This role will provide wide-range ALM support to the IFRS 17 and IFRS 9 implementation, as well as business-as-usual ALM practice in Asia region.  This role is also supporting team to work closely with BUs and JVs for ALM related projects across Asia.

Preferred skills

  • Knowledge of actuarial/ accounting practices and knowledge of IFRS 17/ 9

  • Understanding of risk management and ALM frameworks and practices in Asia insurance business

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to details and able to work under pressure

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Expertise in ALM / financial modelling and valuation systems, preferably in GGY AXIS and Bloomberg

  • Cultivate and maintain effective relationships with various business partners/stakeholders

  • Willing to take new challenges

  • Required business-oriented mind and attention to details

Qualifications

  • University undergraduate with major in Actuarial Science/ related studies

  • ALM or Actuarial related internship experience, preferable with IFRS 17, stochastic modelling experience is an Asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support team on various analysis on IFRS17/ IFRS9, ALM process and reporting revamp (e.g. providing IFRS 17 discount rate curve and associated analysis, as well as supporting the Explanation of Investment Results, etc)

  • Assist teams on IFRS 17 investigations on ALM implications 

  • Support team on various ad-hoc ALM projects and ALCO meeting preparation

  • Support team on assess risk exposure and enhance value creation and financial risk management with sound ALM strategies, ensure that the ALM First Line of Defense of Market Risk (e.g. interest rate risk, credit risk, equity risk) function is carried out properly
