About The Company
The Health and Recreation Complex (HRC) offers many programs and services to Butler students, faculty, staff, and alumni, as well as the Indianapolis community. Not only is it the main stomping ground for the Department of Recreation, the HRC also houses the offices of Counseling and Consultation Services, Health Education, and Health Services, making it a true wellness center on campus.
About the Role

The market and financial analysis intern provides operational and strategic support for the Transformation Lab. The individual will work closely with the Lab’s Market and Financial Analyst to conduct market research for potential new programs and initiatives at Butler. Additionally, the intern will create financial and business models to evaluate potential feasibility.  The intern will utilize both market and financial information to provide recommendations for the university.  

Note: The Transformation Lab is a department within Butler’s Strategy and Innovation division. The Lab is charged with evaluating innovative ideas and moving ideas forward. Thus, individuals working with the Lab should be energized by innovation and by “thinking outside the box.”  

Base Hourly Rate:  $15.00 

Anticipated number of weekly hours: 15 to 20 per week 

What days will the student work: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday; 2 to 3 days preferable

Intended student learning outcomes: 

  • Utilize market research tools to evaluate potential programs and projects 
  • Identify potential programs to increase or diversify student enrollment 
  • Build financial models for programs or projects showing potential net losses or income. 
  • Develop financial assumptions that lead to model construction 
  • Organize market research in digestible formats for others to understand
