About The Company
We are a recognized industry leader in electrical & instrumentation maintenance, major project construction, renewables/solar, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement services. Alongside our automation, communications, and fabrication services, we deliver systems that perform. We are driven by values, fuelled by performance, and obsessed to impress. About the Role

CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in E&I maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement.

We’re looking for a summer student who can design, organize, and build—not just make things look good, but make them work better.

This role sits at the intersection of graphic design, information design, and web. You’ll support the Communications team in creating clear, high-impact visuals and digital experiences that help our people and our business move faster and smarter.

You won’t be a “helper.” You’ll be a contributor.

Responsibilities:

  • Design clean, professional visual assets (presentations, internal communications, campaign materials, social content)
  • Translate complex ideas into simple, structured visuals (infographics, process maps, dashboards, guides)
  • Support website updates and improvements (layout, content updates, UX clarity)
  • Build and optimize digital content
  • Maintain brand consistency across all materials
  • Support video and motion design where needed (basic editing, thumbnails, overlays)
  • Work with the team to improve how information flows—less clutter, more clarity
  • Take ownership of small projects from concept to completion

Job Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Web Development, Information Design, or a related program
  • Completion of at least two years of post‑secondary education
  • Strong design fundamentals (layout, typography, hierarchy)
  • Ability to simplify complex information into clear visuals
  • Experience with design and production tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or Figma; familiarity with TurnKey GNU/Linux is an asset
  • Basic web skills (HTML/CSS; CMS experience is a plus)
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to clean, accurate, and polished work
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Open to feedback and direction, with a demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and continuously improve

Our employment benefits include:

  • Belonging to a strong, motivating team.
  • On-the-job training and a commitment to mentorship from invested, industry-leading professionals.
  • Real project ownership—not just observation
  • Exposure to business-facing communications and brand execution
  • Experience working across design, digital, and strategy
  • A portfolio of work that actually matters
  • Opportunities for advancement.

At CDN, our employees are united by our four core values:

  • Character.
  • Connection.
  • Drive.
  • Growth.
