About the Role

POSITION SUMMARY 

 

The Legal Rotation Program starts with an Legal internship and an opportunity to return for our summer rotation program after your internship. This summer experience will foster learning and growth in the Legal profession, and help you jumpstart your career in Legal. This position is designed to give you broad exposure to the entire spectrum of legal department management and an opportunity to learn about finance and operations in construction from our top performing employees across disciplines. The aim is to help you build a broad range of competencies while refining the skills necessary to support our dynamic business environment.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

 

The Legal Department Rotational Program Participant will participate in a structured rotational program designed to provide exposure to various facets of the legal department function as well as other areas within the organization. This program offers a unique opportunity for professional development and hands-on experience in different legal disciplines, finance exposure, and and cross-functional projects. It aims to accelerate your development through rotational assignments, supplemental training, project-based work, and structured, hands-on learning. Additionally, integrated with the rotations presents an opportunity to work with a support network that includes managers, mentors, executive sponsors, and your fellow colleagues. Upon completion, you will have the necessary experience and skills to make a decision as to what type of environment best suits your skills and attidtue.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Rotational Assignments: Engages in on-the-job assignments across different concentrations of Legal, including AI application investigation, litigation support, and research. Participate in rotational assignments within other departments such as Business Transformation, Operations, Finance, IT, or other areas of interest.
  • Learning and Development: Actively participates in training sessions, workshops, and seminars to enhance knowledge and skills in law and related fields. Take advantage of mentoring and coaching opportunities provided by experienced professionals within the organization.
  • Project Assignments: Contributes to project teams on strategic initiatives and special projects across various functions within the organization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver results and drive business objectives.
  • Networking and Relationship Building: Builds professional relationships with colleagues, mentors, and leaders across the organization. Participate in networking events, team meetings, and company-sponsored activities to expand professional networks and gain exposure to different perspectives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities for process improvement and innovation within Legal and other areas of the organization. Actively contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and employee experience.
  • Finance: Develops proficiency in data and reporting automation, financial modeling and data visualization tools. You’ll develop financial forecasts and analyses that provide meaningful insight into business trends.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 

A high school degree.

The incumbent must also be 1) proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, 2) able to multitask several different projects at one time, 3) able to interface well with employees at all levels of the organization, and 4) be able to travel as required by the job. 

 

POSITION LOCATION

 

The incumbent will be expected to work primarily onsite at our corporate headquarters office location. Projects will require the incumbent to work in field office locations as needed. The role may be eligible for a flexible work schedule, as determined by the department's needs and in consultation with leadership.  Flexibility to adjust work hours or work remotely may be required based on project deadlines, team collaboration needs, or other business requirements.

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

 

The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation. 

 

The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required.  This includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, personal flotation devices, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.

 

The incumbent must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident.
