About the Role

The Team and Role:
Forget traditional CAD drafting. In this role, AI is your Digital Co-pilot. We are looking for a visionary intern to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and physical hardware. You won't just be following orders; you will be exploring how generative AI can redefine how we build the world. As an Innovation Mechanical Intern, you will be at the forefront of the "AI for Hardware" movement, experimenting with unconventional design methods to shape the future of Logitech’s products.

  • AI-Assisted Ideation: Leverage cutting-edge AI tools to rapidly generate product concepts and structural sketches, translating them into functional 3D models.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Bring AI-generated designs to life using 3D printing and CNC, testing the physical limits of complex, optimized structures.
  • Simulation & Optimization: Explore and implement AI-driven surrogate models to predict FEA/CFD results, slashing traditional iteration times from days to minutes.
  • Workflow Reinvention: Document and help define the "ME Workflow of the Future" by integrating LLMs and generative design into our daily engineering stack.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and designers to validate the feasibility of AI-driven mechanical solutions.
     

Key Qualifications:
For consideration, you must bring the following skills and behaviors to our team:

  • The Maker Spirit: A passion for getting your hands dirty. Proven experience in robotics, drones, or DIY projects where ideas turn into physical objects.
  • CAD Proficiency: Power user of CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Rhino.
  • AI Enthusiasm: Active interest or experience in AI tools (e.g., Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, LLMs) or Python scripting for engineering automation.
  • Problem Solver Mindset: Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of finding creative workarounds for complex technical hurdles without a manual.
  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design, or a related field.
