About you and this role

Do you want to join Dow's digital innovation journey? We are seeking ambitious bachelor's and master’s students motivated to apply their programming and data skills with a digital internship in Terneuzen, the Netherlands.


You will be welcomed in our Research & Development department, supporting scientists and engineers by developing software applications and analytical tools. The focus of this internship is application programming, data analysis, and model development based on scientific and analytical instrument data.


This role is ideal for students who enjoy building practical software solutions close to real laboratory and research workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Developing a web-based application for managing and visualizing process data.  
  • Develop and implement automated, integrated digital solutions to improve data integrity, accessibility, and alignment with corporate transformation goals.  
  • Modernize workflows and enhance security through internally hosted applications that streamline data processing and improve accuracy. 
  • Leverage AI and computational modeling to automate and modernize analytical method development 

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, software engineering, chemical engineering, material science, or other related disciplines.
  • Good working knowledge of English.
  • You can start between June and October 2026 for a duration of five to six months (exact timing to be discussed). 

Your Skills

  • Proficiency in Python for application development and data analysis.
  • Experience with JavaScript for frontend or application interfaces.
  • Strong understanding of databases and data handling.
  • Experience working with data produced by scientific or analytical instruments.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary, research-focused environment.

Additional notes

  • There is no visa support for this role.
  • Selected candidates are expected to work on-site in Terneuzen, the Netherlands.
