Verida is a minority-owned, non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) management company based in Villa Rica (30 miles west of Atlanta), Georgia. Specializing in the unique challenges of NEMT programs for state Medicaid and managed care organizations, we provide comprehensive NEMT administrative services. This includes call center services; eligibility verification using proven gatekeeping processes; claims management; transportation provider credentialing and monitoring; utilization review; fraud, waste, and abuse mitigation; and quality management.
About the Role

SUMMARY:  As an Intern, you will be responsible for supporting the department or team to achieve their set goals. In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate directly with the team on diverse projects and assignments which will impact your overall learning and development experience as an Intern. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor any discrepancies in payment, monitor charges made on credit cards and record any returns.
  • Organize a financial filing system that is easily accessible.
  • Assist with preparing accounting reports to be presented to senior management.
  • Track all payments made for tax preparation and follow up on returns.
  • Speak to clients and providers about payments, refunds and statements
  • Ensure that all clients receive their financial statements on time.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial statements, making sure that the final figures on statements are correct.
  • Assist with the balancing of the office/department budget.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:  

  • Must either be a recent graduate or in the process of completing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting.
  • Proficient with computers and different finance software programs
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships. 
  • Have strong organization and time management skills with the ability to work without distraction.
  • Must have completed introductory accounting courses and have a basic understanding of financial principles.
  • Must be a team player, motivated to learn with a strong desire to take on a new challenge.
