About the Role

Position Summary

The Summer Intern – Project Services will participate in a structured rotational internship within a marine construction and concrete operations environment. This program provides hands-on exposure toProject Controls functions that support active heavy civil and marine projects.

Through a defined rotation and mentoring structure, the intern will gain foundational knowledge of material procurement, subcontract coordination, cost tracking, forecasting, and scheduling processes that directly influence project safety, quality, profitability, and on-time delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with cost tracking and budget updates
  • Support monthly forecasting and reporting
  • Maintain production tracking logs (marine and concrete activities)
  • Assist with change order documentation
  • Support schedule milestone updates

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand cost coding and budget structures
  • Learn basic forecasting principles
  • Recognize how schedule impacts cost and project delivery

Qualifications

Education

Currently enrolled in or interest in:

  • Construction Management
  • Civil Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Supply Chain Management
  • Business Administration
  • Or related field

Skills

  • Strong analytical ability
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Interest in marine/heavy civil construction

Work Environment

  • Office and field exposure (marine job sites and concrete operations)
  • Requires PPE for site visits
  • Based in Houston with potential regional exposure
