Premier Marine LLC is a manufacturer of world-class, high-performance and luxury pontoons. We hold numerous patents and trademarks on manufacturing elements such as the Premier Ricochet Ladder System, the PTX™ performance package, and corrosion resistant high strength furniture hinges. We sell our pontoons throughout the United States and Canada. We've been headquartered in Wyoming, Minnesota for 29 years and will move to Big Lake, MN in the summer of 2022.
About the Role

Job Summary

Join us for a hands-on summer internship where you’ll gain exposure to the finance operations of a manufacturing company that uses Standard Costing and operates on an ERP platform. This internship is designed to provide a high-level overview of core finance processes while offering practical learning experiences across cost accounting, reporting, and financial close activities

Management Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Job Functions

· Cost Accounting oversight

o Maintain and monitor the company’s standard costing system for inventory valuation.

o Analyze and report on material usage variances, labor variances, and purchase price variances, providing insights to operations team.

o Cost roll-ups?

· Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

· Audit Management

o Year end Financial audit

o Benefit audits as necessary

o Learn how standard costs are established and used to measure production efficiency and profitability.

· Month-End Close Exposure

o Assist the finance team with elements of the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

· Financial Statement Insights

o Observe how financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow) are compiled and used to evaluate company performance.

· Reporting and Analysis

o Support the team with internal reporting, KPI dashboards, and ad hoc financial analysis using Excel and ERP data.

· Cross Functional Collaboration

· Participate in meetings with operations, supply chain, and engineering to understand how financial information flows across departments.

· ERP navigation and functional set up

o Understand the importance of an ERP system for accuracy in financial and operational reporting

· Exposure to general knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

· Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration

· Completed coursework in financial or managerial accounting (preferred)

· Strong interest in finance and manufacturing operations

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables a plus)

· Willingness to learn, ask questions, and contribute in a team environment

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience Requirements:

· Must be in pursuance of an accounting degree or related field
