ROLE SUMMARY: The Housekeeping Intern supports the daily operations of the Housekeeping department by assisting with the upkeep, cleanliness, and presentation of guest rooms and public areas. This role provides hands-on exposure to hotel housekeeping standards, quality assurance processes, and operational workflows within a luxury hospitality environment. The intern will gain practical experience in maintaining cleanliness standards, supporting room inspections, and ensuring guest satisfaction through attention to detail and teamwork. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assist with Housekeeping duties, including maintaining cleanliness, organization, and readiness of guest floors, service areas, and public spaces. Maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas, back-of-house spaces, and guest corridors in accordance with brand standards. Assist Room Attendants and Housekeeping leadership with guestroom upkeep, restocking, and readiness. Assist with room inspections and quality checks alongside Housekeeping leadership to ensure brand standards are consistently met. Transport linens, supplies, and amenities between storage areas and guest floors to support operational flow. Ensure housekeeping closets, carts, and storage areas are stocked, organized, and maintained throughout the shift. Respond promptly to guest requests and service calls, ensuring timely delivery of items and resolution of needs. Collaborate with Housekeeping and Front Office teams to support overall guest satisfaction and operational efficiency. Support deep cleaning projects and special assignments in guest rooms and public areas as directed by Housekeeping leadership. Support inventory tracking by identifying supply needs and assisting with restocking requests. Assist in lost and found procedures by properly documenting and delivering items according to hotel policy. Participate in daily operations across all areas of Housekeeping, including Public Spaces, Back of House, and Guestrooms. Follow all safety, sanitation, and brand standards in alignment with company and regulatory guidelines. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the hotel and brand. Learn and demonstrate understanding of hotel service standards, guest engagement practices, and operational procedures. Participate in daily briefings, training sessions, and operational meetings as assigned. Ensure confidentiality and security of guest information and hotel property. All other duties as assigned. ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods. Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs or more with assistance. Comfortable working in various environments, including indoor/outdoor spaces and fluctuating temperatures. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college, university, or relevant program. Strong interpersonal and guest service skills with a passion for hospitality. Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully. Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous hotel, hospitality, or customer service experience. Strong multitasking and time management skills. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. Interest in pursuing a career in hospitality or hotel operations.
