PAY RANGE: UP TO 10 HOURS ($18.45hr)


WestGate Church is passionate about raising up new leaders to be and to make disciples of Jesus. As a College Age Ministry Intern, you will grow in your ability to do ministry within the context of college age young adults. Our internships are designed to cultivate young leaders providing them training, experience and discipleship. This is a summer-long commitment that will provide you with a perspective of vocational ministry, specifically learning to manage an effective College Ministry program and outreach. As an intern you’ll support College Age Ministry events across all congregations to be both a landing space and a launching place for college-age young adults—empowering them to learn and live the way of Jesus in Silicon Valley. This part-time role (Sunday - Thursday) may require occasional work on Fridays and Saturdays as well as evening hours, providing exceptional ministry-related event assistance to the student team.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 year minimum of leadership experience
  • Positive, professional, self-starter with the ability to organize, adjust, and prioritize responsibilities and projects with minimal direction. 
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality, handling situations with discretion, diplomacy, and tact. 
  • Exhibits personal and professional discernment and discretion. 
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent time management and attention to detail. 
  • Highly organized with the capability to execute logistics for large-scale projects overseen by the College Age Director.
  • Superior communication skills: written and verbal.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES    

  • Assist College Age Director in the planning, preparation, and execution of services and events.
  • Meet weekly with College Age Director. 
  • Midweek prep for College Age Ministry services and events. 
  • Help set up for College Age Ministry service and summer events.
  • Other duties as assigned.
