About the Role

We are accepting applications for six-month internships in our Vienna office commencing in October 2026.

We welcome applications from motivated junior lawyers, including recent law school graduates with a strong academic background and demonstrated interest in international arbitration. Previous working experience in international dispute settlement/arbitration would be a strong advantage. Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; fluency in other languages, in particular German, French, Russian or Eastern European languages, is desirable, but not required.

An internship with the Freshfields international arbitration group would expose you to a wide range of cross-border work, including some of the most complex and interesting international disputes in the market. Your role would entail assisting the team with all aspects of its caseload, including carrying out legal and factual research, assisting with written submissions and oral hearings, as well as business development activities.

To apply, please submit your online application including a cover letter, curriculum vitae and law school transcripts by 17 May 2026.

Remuneration will be determined in accordance with Austrian law and is based on qualifying experience. The minimum annual gross salary is EUR 32,200, paid monthly in accordance with Austrian law.
