Job Title: Supply Chain/Materials Intern

Department: Materials

Reports To: Materials Manager

Position Type: Full-Time/ Part-time

Job Description
Our Supply Chain/Materials Intern is responsible for the development, implementation, and on-going success of the warehouse set-up, stocking strategies, and process improvement regarding the materials lifecycle.


Job Duties

  • Develop and manage the flow of materials throughout the warehouse.
  • Ensure that the ERP is updated timely and accurately
  • Establish material flow routes, warehouse inventory layout, inventory buffer plan, and material handling methods for delivery and storage of material.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to ensure all Change Notifications and PFEP are updated for any new, revised, or obsolete items.
  • Coordinate with the Purchasing department to order inventory quality levels and replenishment material quantities as needed to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Identifies, creates, and implements process improvement items within the department
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven strong analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think on the fly and execute quickly to ensure effective and efficient warehousing operations are maintained.
  • Ability to think critically in order to properly analyze people, situations, and data in a time-effective manner.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and act independently when appropriate.
  • Proficient with various web-based software applications, including Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Experience utilizing NetSuite preferred

Minimum Requirements

  • Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, economic, industrial engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Previous experience in materials, supply chain, scheduling, or related areas (preferred)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work


This is a full-time, exempt position that primarily works Monday-Friday; willing to work around class schedule during the school year.
