ROLE SUMMARY
The People & Culture Advisor Intern supports the People & Culture team in delivering HR services across Canada. This role provides hands-on exposure to core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, and employee relations initiatives. The intern will assist with administrative tasks, research, and coordination activities while developing foundational HR knowledge and skills.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assist with recruitment activities and support the talent acquisition process, including posting roles, screening resumes, and coordinating interviews.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and employee communication.
- Organize employee files and identify key documentation requirements to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Maintain and update employee records within HRIS (e.g., ADP Workforce Now).
- Assist with drafting job descriptions and interview guides.
- Support the performance review process by reviewing SMART goals for alignment and consistency.
- Work on policies and procedures by identifying areas for improvement and assisting with updates.
- Support HR team with employee engagement initiatives and programs.
- Help prepare reports, metrics, and presentations.
- Conduct research on HR best practices and policies.
- Provide administrative support such as file management and data entry.
- Assist with contractor tracking and coordination.
- Collaborate with HR team on ongoing projects and initiatives.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Strong interest in Human Resources functions.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Detail-oriented with strong accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.
- Previous internship or administrative experience is an asset but not required.
