Give Kids The World Village is an 89 acre, whimsical nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides critically ill children and their families with a magical week long wish vacation at no cost. Amidst snoring trees, enchanting castles and the world’s largest game of Candy Land, Give Kids The World creates life changing moments that lift spirits, renew hope and inspire belief in the impossible.
We believe that each member of our team has the ability to help create the perfect storybook experience for the special families we host at our magical Village. This internship will give you an opportunity to have meaningful learning experiences while supporting department goals and gaining real world exposure to the hospitality/non-profit industry.
Commitment:
Interns will be expected on property 3 to 4 days per week totaling roughly 24 to 28 hours per week. Your schedule will be dependent on department needs and will be discussed with you at the time of onboarding. Internship Program will run from May 18, 2026 to August 14, 2026.
Responsibilities:
Support daily Memory Market operations, including sales floor assistance, product replenishment, and volunteer support.
Assist with inventory management, including stock counts, tagging merchandise, back stock organization, and receiving deliveries.
Help merchandise product displays according to visual standards and seasonal plans.
Collect and review basic sales and KPI data to support operational and merchandising decisions.
Support Shopify POS operations, including order fulfillment and item status updates.
Collaborate with Marketing and Merchandising teams on product research, special projects, and events.
Deliver excellent guest service while engaging with families and volunteers in a mission focused manner.
Create weekly Newsletter to Volunteers on Merchandise initiatives and weekly updates.
Observe workflows and provide ideas to improve efficiency and guest experience.
Physical Demands Beyond Normal Office Environment:
Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, crouch, balance, use hands and arms to lift/move objects.
Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
Able to maintain a flexible schedule, which may include nights, weekends and/or holidays.
QualificationsQualifications and Specific Skills:
Ability to work in a fast paced retail environment with prolonged standing and hands on product handling.
Strong attention to detail for inventory accuracy, merchandising standards, and organization.
Comfortable learning POS and inventory systems; Shopify experience preferred.
Ability to follow merchandising plans, operational procedures, and safety guidelines.
Professional, guest focused demeanor when interacting with families, volunteers, and staff.
Professional verbal and written communication skills ensuring courtesy, efficiency, and detailed follow through.
Creative problem solving skills.
Enthusiastic attitude.
Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
Must have strong organization and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Education / Experience Required:
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, pursuing a degree, and taking at least one class at the time of application.
