Dive into the inaugural year of the SeaWorld San Diego Summer Internship Program, an exciting new opportunity designed to give students meaningful, real-world experience in a dynamic theme park environment. As this inaugural year launches, interns will play an important role in shaping a program that will grow for years to come. Internships are open to undergraduate students who are currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university.

What you get to do:

  • Perform the job duties in Guest Arrival areas (Guest Services, Parking Lot, Ticketing, Tolls, scan park entry products)
  • Manage guest flow, queue lines, and crowd control during peak and high attendance periods.
  • Address guest inquiries, concerns, and service recovery situations when necessary.
  • Report and submit requests for equipment repairs, maintenance, or software issues through appropriate systems.
  • Track operational data and assist in completing daily and weekly operational reports, including opening and closing reports for assigned areas.
  • Ensure compliance to all state/federal regulations, park policies, and department procedures
  • Ensure ambassadors receive break and meal periods in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
  • Maintain the highest level of cleanliness in the park, conduct quality inspections of assigned areas, and follow up on any opportunities to improve
  • Maintain inventory and stock/replace areas supplies and equipment as needed
  • Conduct equipment and safety checks in compliance with department and company standards
  • Attend to ambassadors and follow park protocol in emergency situations
  • Respond to ambassador and guest needs
  • Track information to complete daily and weekly reports.
  • Submit IT tickets for issues such as for equipment or or software.
  • Report to Supervisors and Managers regarding the status of projects and completed assignments
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with Ambassadors, Vendors and our Guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Occasionally assist other locations and areas in the park as needed.


What it takes to succeed:

  • Experience in construction, procurement, contract administration, or finance preferred
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills; able to read, write and speak English.
  • Strong ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints from team members, customers, regulatory agencies, or contractors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to ensure accurate follow-through on all aspects of contract compliance in accordance with corporate legal and capital project controls and procedures.
  • Able to work proficiently with technology, such as computers, tablet and Kiosk proficiently


What else is important:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods in various weather conditions.
  • Consistently practices safe work habits, including using personal protective equipment and lifting safety protocols.
  • Willing to comply with all organizational grooming guidelines and employment standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a park license.


Hours: Up to 40 hours per week; Monday-Sunday with holidays as needed
Availability: Must have 4 days of open availability, including weekends and holidays.

Compensation: $18/hr
