About RBC Global Asset Management

RBC Global Asset Management (RBC GAM) is the asset management division of Royal Bank of Canada, managing approximately $680 billion in assets with 1,600 employees across Canada, the United States, Europe, and Asia. We provide global investment management services through mutual funds, ETFs, and specialized investment strategies to institutional, high-net-worth, and individual investors.

The Opportunity

Join the Sales Technology & Analytics (ST&A) team supporting our Advisor Channel Sales (ACS) division—a national team of wholesalers and business development managers promoting RBC GAM mutual funds, ETFs, and SMAs to Canadian Investment Advisors.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Data Management

  • Categorize daily sales transactions and assign rep codes to investment advisors
  • Complete monthly metrics reporting on data categorization progress

Advisor Prospecting & Reporting

  • A focus is placed on advisor prospecting. The student will complete a variety of routine tasks, utilizing tools such as Excel and SQL, to find and communicate new advisors to the national sales team as well as produce reports analyzing prospecting progress.

CRM Reporting & Data Hygiene

  • Run and format a variety of standard and ad hoc reports from the CRM system to support the Sales Operations Team and the ACS Leadership Team.
  • Lead "data hygiene" effort in on our CRM system to ensure accurate quality data.

Event Support

  • Participate in event planning and pre-event reporting for ACS conferences

Sales Initiative Tracking

  • A focus is also placed on tracking the success of various sales initiatives. The students will create Excel reports that analyze the progress of our sales initiatives and the net benefits.

Innovation & AI Integration

  • Leverage RBC’s internal AI tools to enhance reporting efficiency and automate existing ST&A workflows
  • Design and build AI agents using RBC’s internal AI platform to streamline processes for the Advisor Channel Sales team
  • Participate in unique projects such as software integration and process improvement initiatives

Administrative Support

  • Complete administrative tasks as required

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, including:
    • Pivot tables (create and update)
    • Formulas and logic functions (particularly VLOOKUP)
    • Sort and Filter functions for large datasets
    • Macro creation and manipulation
    • Data visualization (charts and graphs)
    • VBA and SQL knowledge (asset, not required)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to learn new platforms (Salesforce, Tableau, SharePoint)
  • Knowledge of generative AI tools for prompt engineering, AI agent development, and report generation

Financial Knowledge

  • Basic understanding of the Canadian Securities Industry and regulatory environment
  • Familiarity with mutual fund types and structures (asset, not required)
  • Interest in Investment Management
