The Financial Controlling and Performance Management team is responsible for:

  • The business monitoring and the follow up of the performance of the local entities.
  • The oversight and validation of the financial and capital management planning of the local entities (forecast, strategic plan …) which includes the follow up of strategic questions and top management requests.
  • The Financial controlling activities: Controlling, Analyzing and Presenting earnings & Financial Statements figures reported by entities in the consolidation tool, in line with AXA IFRS and Solvency 2 accounting and reporting rules.
  • The Finance target setting and target assessment (STIC) of the entities in the perimeter
  • Synthetising and presenting to the AXA Group Finance teams the IMa perimeter financial performance
  • Managing the transition towards IFRS17
  • Managing Internal controls

The team is part of the overall IMa Finance area, headed by the Head of Finance and organized around 4 teams:

  1. LATAM and Turkey geographical area
  2. ASIA and Africa geographical area
  3. IMa Holdings, Cost & Capital Management
  4. Tax

Primary mission and key accountabilities: 

The Financial Controlling and Performance Management Intern will be part of the LATAM and Africa + Turkey geographical area, and its missions will be mainly oriented to:

  • Preparing work files (Excel, PowerPoint) necessary for closings and continuously striving to automate processes in order to provide more accurate data.
  • Review of the control checks in the financial system (Group consolidation tool) and contacting the entities with the aim of correcting the discrepancies.
  • Participating in the IFRS closings procedures (monthly, quarterly, preclosings and forecasts) making sure that the figures are correct and submitted by the entities in a timely manner.
  • Conducting regular and occasional business analyses.
  • Providing assistance to the team members on their daily tasks based upon current needs and preparing ad-hoc reports related to the perimeter.

Candidate profile: 

  • Background and experience
    • Ongoing studies (final semesters) / recent graduate, degree in Finance / Audit & Accounting / Controlling or similar.
    • Previous practical experiencia in the field is an advantage.
  • Technical and professional skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Basic knowledge of the IFRS and accounting mechanisms
    • Fluent in English 
    • Basic knowledge of the insurance industry
    • Very good knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Soft skills and competences
    • Proactive, autonomous, organized and reliable
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Capacity for managing tight deadlines
    • Ability to work in the international and fast-paced enviroment
    • Iniciative and agile spirit
