Respiratory Care Student Internship (Paid) – ChristianaCare Newark Campus

Goal/Purpose:

  • Build real-world inpatient hospital experience while you complete your Respiratory Care education. 

  • Become part of a strong pipeline that creates a post‑graduation career path.

Program Description:

  • A paid and structured internship for students actively enrolled in a CoARC‑accredited Respiratory Care program.

  • You’ll support the department through equipment and workflow responsibilities, and if you obtain a Delaware Working Student RCP Permit, you may perform supervised patient care activities within scope and competency. 

Role/Responsibility:

  • Respiratory equipment processing: clean, assemble, transport, stock, and maintain supplies / equipment.

  • Participate in respiratory education sessions. 

  • Learn and follow infection prevention and safety practices.

Patient-care scope (if licensed Student)

  • Perform supervised clinical tasks under the direction of licensed Respiratory Therapists.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled and in good standing in a CoARC‑accredited Respiratory Care program.

  • BLS

  • Ability to follow protocols, communicate professionally, and safely handle equipment in clinical areas.

This internship pays $18.00 per hour.

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
