About the Role

Description

The Opportunity

This isn't your typical "coffee-and-copies" internship. At MainStreet Bank, you will be embedded within a high-performing, cross-functional Marketing team. You will gain a 360-degree view of how a modern brand operates, supporting everything from high-level brand strategy to the technical execution of multi-channel campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

You will rotate through and assist various team members, providing you with a diverse portfolio of work:

  • Customer Experience (CX): Assist in analyzing customer journeys and touchpoints to help improve the overall banking experience.
  • Video & Podcast Production: Assist video production with drafting scripts, coordinating on-set logistics, and supporting post-production for video projects and our signature podcast, "The Grit of Growth."
  • Brand Marketing: Ensure brand consistency across various platforms and help develop creative collateral that resonates with our community.
  • Social Media: Help manage our content calendar, draft engaging posts, and monitor community interaction across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Multi-channel Campaigns: Assist in the launch and management of integrated marketing campaigns, tracking performance metrics across email, web, and traditional media.
  • Collaboration: Work with various marketing partners including sales teams, compliance, and external vendors.

What You Will Gain

  • Hands-on Experience: Apply classroom theory to real-world financial marketing challenges.
  • Mentorship: Work directly alongside experts in CX, video, and campaign strategy.
  • Networking: Build professional relationships within the Fairfax business community and the banking industry.
  • Portfolio Building: Walk away with tangible examples of campaigns and content you helped create.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Academic Standing: Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior at an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Major: Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a closely related field.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with social media platforms and basic marketing tools (Adobe Suite, various Social platforms and HubSpot experience is a plus).
  • Local Presence: Ability to work on-site at our Fairfax, VA Headquarters.
  • Mindset: A proactive "can-do" attitude and a genuine curiosity about finance and marketing.

At MainStreet Bank we strive to bring talented, team-oriented individuals on staff to meet and exceed our customers' needs.  MainStreet team members enjoy a friendly working environment, opportunity for personal and professional growth, generous benefits and access to resources for improving their well-being.
