Electrical Engineering Intern

Overview
Join the San Jose Laser R&D Electrical Engineering team at Lumentum, where you will contribute to groundbreaking projects that shape the future of optical technologies and commercial laser solutions. These laser systems have electrical power distribution and regulation solutions exceeding 80,000 watts!  This is an opportunity to be part of challenging new product develop process, opportunity to work with new product designs.

Responsibilities
As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will:

  • Support electrical system design of laser system.
  • Work with seasoned engineer on PCB & PCBA schematic/layout design of laser system.
  • Hands on bring-up / troubleshoot of Proto design with electrical test equipment.
  • Design analysis of electrical designs e.g. electrical tolerance analysis, component specification compliance, etc.

Location
This internship will be on-site in San Jose, California.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Desired Qualifications

  • Sense of curiosity and enjoys hands on work.
  • Familiarity with PCBA CAD software and engineering analysis tools (e.g. LTSpice).
  • Experienced with electrical lab equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to teamwork.

Pay Range: $23.75 - 54.30/ hour USD
