About the Role

Job Description

This four-month Co-op in a Commercial Banking Centre will prepare the intern to provide excellent reactive and proactive service to Commercial clients in a range of specialized areas. Comprehensive training will combine observation, self-study and interactive courses, guaranteeing an exceptional internship experience.

During this contractual co-op, you will learn about an exciting career in commercial banking. This is your opportunity to become a critical member of a results-oriented team, a key partner to the Relationship Manager, Commercial Financial Services and their clients. You will work with colleagues who have a passion in delivering a superior experience to business clients.

What will you do?

  • Learn about needs discovery and solution development to provide commercial clients with advice for their day-to-day banking operations
  • Partner with Account Managers to identify, plan & deliver the best solutions to clients and prospects based on strong knowledge of client’s operational requirements
  • Participate in ongoing contact programs to forge strong relationships with clients by staying in touch, providing value-added service and meaningful advice

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary (university/college) in Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Financial acumen; ability to complete financial studies and risk analysis; experience in assembling financing solutions for the needs of clients with different levels of complexity
  • Ability to cultivate solid relationships with partners.
  • Experience with emerging communications and technology (i.e., web based meetings, social media, digital banking, and mobile applications)

Nice-to-have

  • Bilingualism (English/French) written and spoken.
