Job Description:

Scope of the role and basic purpose

▪ This job description covers skills & responsibilities of the R&D Intern position located in the JJMC, SH office.

▪ The R&D Intern is responsible for: Executing specific & general assignments that establish the feasibility of innovative, functional concept/product designs; and/or, executing specific & general assignments that test implement and test equipment maintenance; and/or, prototype supplier and test service supplier communication.

Responsibility

▪ Work with design team to provide design concepts, component design solutions, breadboard & prototyping under the coaching.

▪ Assist design engineer and test engineer to complete testing with axial load frame such as MTS, Instron, etc as needed.

▪ Assist design engineer for embedded software design, such as MCU, Bluetooth, etc as needed.

▪ Assist with design verification testing, data analysis, testing samples management, etc as needed.

▪ Assist with programming development such as UI as needed.

▪ Assist in supplier communication for prototype and test service as needed.

▪ Work Environment: Office, laboratory, surgical and manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate/Graduate Student in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent graduating in 2026/2027.

▪ Effective oral, written & presentation communications in English/Mandarin.

▪ Effective team interpersonal skills. Able to take initiative, be self-learning & self-managing.

▪ 3D CAD software proficiency (Experience of UG/NX or Solidworks is a plus).

▪ Knowledge and experience of finite element analysis is a plus, with software such as Solidworks Simulation, Abaqus, etc.

▪ Experience of mechanical or materials testing development and execution, such as experience with Universal tester like MTS, and experience of data analysis and writing test reports.

▪ Knowledge and experience of embedded software development, such as MSP432, STM32, etc. Experience with Bluetooth development is a plus.

▪ Capable of reading schematics and BOM is a plus. Knowledge and hands-on experience of motor control is a plus.

▪ Computer skills (Windows): programing language (Python/C/C++/Matlab), word processing, project planning, presentation, e-mail & spreadsheet software.
