At PowerCo, we are shaping the battery future. Founded by the Volkswagen Group in 2022, PowerCo is a globally operating battery cell manufacturer with a strong commitment to sustainability. The company, headquartered in Salzgitter, is rooted in Europe and is responsible for the development and production of battery cells, as well as the vertical integration of the value chain. PowerCo is currently ramping-up three cell factories with a combined capacity of up to 200 gigawatt-hours per year: Salzgitter in Germany, Valencia in Spain, and St. Thomas in Canada. About the Role
 
Who we are

Our mission has started. We are starting our own battery cell production in Battery Valley in Salzgitter and ramping up our headquarters for global cell production. The finance unit takes care of all financial processes within the company. The responsibilities vary from preparation of product- and production sites decision to record and analyze all financial company transactions in SAP S4 Hana cloud.  

  
 
Your role and key responsibilities
  • Theoretical analysis of modern data platform architectures and BI concepts for financial controlling (SAP Datasphere, Databricks, Power BI).
  • Identification of a research gap with strong practical relevance for Investment Controlling.
  • Development of a conceptual framework for digitalized, data-driven reporting workflows.
  • Derivation of requirements, limitations, and implications for implementing reporting automation.
  • Creation of at least one end-to-end prototype (e.g., Power BI dashboard, Datasphere/Databricks pipeline)
  • Documentation of findings and recommendations for organizational scaling
  • Taking over operational tasks as needed
  
 
What you bring to the team
  • Enrollment in a Master's program in Finance, Business Informatics, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical mindset with focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Basic understanding of financial controlling structures and reporting processes.
  • Initial knowledge of BI tools (Power BI), data platforms (SAP Datasphere, Databricks), or SAP systems.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business insights.
  • Independent and structured working style.
  • Fluency in English & German B1.
