At PowerCo, we are shaping the battery future. Founded by the Volkswagen Group in 2022, PowerCo is a globally operating battery cell manufacturer with a strong commitment to sustainability. The company, headquartered in Salzgitter, is rooted in Europe and is responsible for the development and production of battery cells, as well as the vertical integration of the value chain. About the Role
 
Who we are

Our mission has started. We are starting our own battery cell production in Battery Valley in Salzgitter and ramping up our headquarters for global cell production. The CTO organization takes care of the battery cell development. Our responsibility includes research, predevelopment of materials and components, series development, prototyping, testing and analysis of battery cells.

  
 
Your role and key responsibilities
  • Assist in gaining insights into organizing and coordinating sample tracking for electrode benchmarking activities.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of documentation, forms, and overviews as part of learning test request workflows.
  • Learn to create and refine Excel sheets and PowerPoint presentations used for project steering and reporting.
  • Observe and support communication between laboratory, testing, and simulation teams to understand cross‑functional processes.
  • Contribute to the structured planning and follow‑up of test orders under guidance.
  
 
What you bring to the team
  • Ongoing university studies in engineering, chemistry, physics, data science, or a comparable field.
  • Strong organizational skills and a reliable, structured way of working.
  • Confident handling of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate in an international team.
  • Fluent English language skills are mandatory.
  
 
What makes you stand out
  • Experience with structured documentation or lab/test processes.
  • Interest in data analysis or scripting (e.g., Python) — while this may not form the core of your tasks, it can be an asset.
  • High level of initiative and enjoyment of coordination tasks in a technical setting.
  • High motivation to learn about battery development, testing workflows, and performance benchmarking.
