THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE:
Reporting to the Executive Assistant, the Intern, Office Clerk will ensure the safe and smooth day-to-day in-office administration and operations of Save the Children in the Toronto Office. Main responsibilities include taking the initiative to action tasks by entering data, organizing files, managing office supplies and vendors, support in-office employees and visitors with various requests, and supporting the executive assistants. Handles confidential information.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Prepare record, monitor and keep track of assigned administrative tasks with confidential discretion. This may include mail and courier support services
- Follow up and liaise with vendors and property management. Place service calls.
- Perform administrative work including, but not limited to, arranging meetings, taking meeting minutes and storing files as determined and assigned by management.
- Maintain and monitor inventory levels of office and kitchen supplies and stationery items and reorder the same. Ensure the office and all meeting spaces is tidy and clean
- Welcome visitors in a courteous, polite and professional manner. If applicable, inform appropriate team members about the visitors and direct visitors to them.
- Assistwith event planning and coordination. Provide support to team members at events whether on-site or off-site.
- Receive incoming phone calls in a professional manner, answer general inquiries and/or routing these calls to theappropriate department/personnel, as necessary.
- Provide excellent customer services to build trusting relationships in a positive goal-oriented manner and approach.
- Maintain a reception area that is neat and tidy bycomplying withorganizational procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing results, goals and targets in an effective and timely manner.
- Perform and assist with other duties as determined and assigned by management.
Qualifications include (but are not limited to):
- This position is funded by the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Job Program. To be eligible, youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canadian accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- be a post-secondary student returning to school in the Fall.
- Note: International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.

- Current student enrolled in or recently graduated from an Administrative school program, meeting Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria.
- Customer service experience.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills for diverse audiences to build strong working relationships across cultural and organizational settings, both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated project management experience for task execution of assigned objectives supported by proficiency with MS Office tools and relevant technologies. Ability to work under pressure within tight timelines to achieve SCC objectives.
- Displays analytical and problem-solving skills to support initiatives with demonstrated adaptability to support change management for successful task implementation.
- Applies judgment and make sound decisions that are accountable, justifiable, and in adherence to policies and procedures.
WHAT WE OFFER
- This position will be paid $20.00 CAD per hour.
- 35 hours per week.
- Duration: June 1 to July 24, 2026 (8 weeks).
