THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE:
The Finance Intern will provide basic support to the Finance team in maintaining accurate records and assisting with routine financial tasks. This includes helping with data entry, filing, invoice processing, and preparing simple reports. The role is designed to give hands-on experience in finance operations while ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Reporting to the Controller, the intern will work closely with team members to learn and contribute to day-to-day financial activities that keep the organization running smoothly.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Assist with data entry of financial transactions into accounting systems.
- Support invoice processing, including coding and matching with purchase orders.
- Help maintain organized filing systems for financial documents (digital and paper).
- Update and reconcile spreadsheets for expense tracking and account reconciliation.
- Provide support during month-end close by preparing simple schedules or reports.
- Respond to basic vendor or internal inquiries regarding payment status.
- Collaborate with team members on ad hoc administrative tasks to ensure smooth financial operation.
Qualifications include (but are not limited to):
- This position is funded by the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Job Program. To be eligible, youth must:
- be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canadian accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
- be a post-secondary student returning to school in the Fall.
- Note: International students are not eligible participants. As the objective of the CSJ program is to support youth entering the Canadian labour market, the temporary nature of an international student's time in Canada does not allow for a long-term connection to the labour market. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada. Youth awaiting a refugee status ruling, as well as those who hold a temporary visitor visa, youth visa or work visa are ineligible.

- Current student enrolled in or recently graduated from a Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related program, meeting Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications for data entry and reporting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
- Ability to organize and maintain records in digital formats.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Displays analytical and problem-solving skills with willingness to learn and adapt.
- Comfortable working under tight timelines and following organizational policies.
WHAT WE OFFER
- This position will be paid $20.00 CAD per hour.
- 35 hours per week.
- Duration: June 1 to July 24, 2026 (8 weeks).
