About the Role

Work in a within the HR Shared Services areas. Work as an entry level coordinator/intern doing tasks that support the operations of Human Resources. This role will gain exposure to multiple areas within HR including Leave Administration, the HR Service Center, HR Operations, and a light introduction to Payroll. Through practical operations experience and mentoring, a successful candidate will gain significant professional confidence and people skills.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work includes managing incoming paper and electronic documents

  • Completing legal and employee file requests, general filing, and benefit entry

  • Coordinating resource updates in internal HR System

  • Managing outgoing communications, and general data entry

 

This position is for a June 1, 2026, start date. This position may have the possibility to extend beyond the internship’s initial term based on the candidate’s successful performance and Xcel Energy’s business needs.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current student, Freshman status or higher

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, Management or similar

  • Interest in HR, HR Courses, familiar with Microsoft Office, and comfortable with multiple systems

Non-Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $15.60 to $19.50 per hour

This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
