About the Role


Position Summary:

The Business Development Specialist Intern supports organizational growth and expansion initiatives across key markets. This role provides hands-on experience in identifying new business opportunities, conducting market research, and assisting in the development of strategic partnerships. Responsibilities include collaborating with business development team members to analyze industry trends and customer needs, contributing to the development of effective sales and marketing strategies, and supporting various stages of the business development lifecycle, including lead generation and deal support activities. This position offers exposure to core business development processes and contributes to revenue growth and the organization’s overall competitive position in the marketplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Assist in generating and qualifying leads through various channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, and networking events.
  • Support the preparation of presentations, proposals, and sales materials tailored to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as marketing, sales, and product development to align business development strategies.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics related to business development activities and outcomes.
  • Participate in meetings with potential clients and partners to gain exposure to negotiation and relationship-building processes.
  • Maintain and update the customer relationship management (CRM) system to ensure accurate and timely data entry.

Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of business development principles and sales processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous internship or work experience in sales, marketing, or business development.
  • Familiarity with CRM software such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and social media platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Education/Certification:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor’s degree program in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field.
